Please join us in welcoming our newest physician team member, Dr. Lauren Dickson! Dr. Dickson has joined our team as a board certified medical and aesthetic dermatologist. Her aesthetic experience includes non-surgical treatment options for wrinkle reduction, facial rejuvenation, and body contouring with the use of injectables, laser, light, and energy devices, and customizing skin care protocols to each patient’s individual needs.
“I am grateful to my patients for allowing me to be a part of their skin care and aesthetic goals, and really enjoy delivering them meaningful and natural results,” she said. “I’ve learned that is a process, not just a procedure, to reverse and slow down the aging face and neck. I want my patients to feel like the best version of themselves. That is what motivates me.”
Dr. Dickson joins NDDA after two aesthetic preceptorships under two of the nations leading cosmetic dermatologists, Dr. Tina Alster, a pioneer in laser treatments and Dr. Mary Lupo, one of the nation’s most well-known injectables specialists.
She also has a special focus in the field of biologics and other treatments to address skin conditions like psoriasis, an immune system disorder.
“The nontreatment and undertreatment of psoriasis remains a significant problem in the United States,” said Dr. Dickson. “If untreated, it often results in severe negative psychological effects in affected patients. Also, recent research has shown that uncontrolled psoriasis can lead to systemic inflammation and ultimately end organ damage such as heart disease. “
She added that one of her top priorities is to help patients stay educated on effective treatments and help make sure new treatments are accessible to them. “It’s important for me to provide my patients with psoriasis ranging from mild to severe with a variety of treatment options ranging from topical therapies to various biologic medications, which we are very fortunate to have now as many of these life changing medications were not available over a decade ago.”
Dr. Dickson said she was drawn to NDDA for the special emphasis on patient communication and teamwork cultivated by the practice.
“I am so excited to be a part of NDDA. It’s so nice to work with such an amazing team who have had some of the best training available in many dermatologic conditions and treatments. I love how we share our thoughts on challenging cases and work together as a team. I genuinely believe that our relationship allows us to provide the best care for our patients. We share the same vision to provide the highest level of healthcare in a supportive, caring and respectful environment.”
